"Calm Before The Storm" is the first part of the sixteenth and final episode of Village of Objects, released on the 1st of February, 2022.
Plot[]
College Flashback (Opening)[]
It starts outside of a building, of what looks like to be a college, or to be more specific, Coin's college, where he and Streetlight went to. The scene goes to a maths class where Coin, and his new friend at the time, OJ. The lesson is about to end, and the teacher is writing down the answer, and calls out who can answer, which no one can. The teacher asks someone out randomly to say the answer, which he picked OJ, but right when he is trying to answer it, the bell rang. The many students, including Coin and OJ, left the room. Coin is sort of sad that OJ couldn't answer the last question. (WIP)

Trivia[]
- This episode was originally announced to release on January 31st instead of February 1st, but was delayed.
- This is also the first Village of Objects episode to be released in 2022.
- Starting this episode, Lemony has two leaves on the top of her, according to Vince, this will be a permanent change to her.
- This makes her one of the three characters in Village of Objects to have a permanent character change. The other two are Blue Rectangle and Cat Bell
- After the episode was released the team of the series took a break from VOO to work on other projects, such as Burger Brawl, Mickey Mouse Battle House, Obsolete Battle Show and others.
- This is the first time Redd was credited for animation, first time StudioCRJ was credited for animation revision, and first time Key's Studio was credit for audio.
- According to Vince, the apartment Coin and Orange Juice own is based off an apartment his brother had.
Continuity references[]
- The first song played in this episode, "burbank - sorry i like you", is also the first song to play in "Bullseye."
- At 3:20, the shot resembles one of the first few frames of "Bullseye" but in the modern style.
- Perfume's intro pose is a reference to her intro pose from "Bullseye" and "Surprise".
Cultural references[]
- Several characters shown in the classroom scene and in the hallways with Coin and Orange Juice are references to Vince Doyen's other projects, Cuppy from Nick of Time, Stopwatch, Tile, Bulletin Board, 1-Ball, Starfruit, White Board, Security Camera, and Bush from Stupid Huge Object War, and Wave Machine being his mascot.
- According to Vince, Bulletin Board, 1-Ball, Starfruit, White Board, Security Camera, and Bush were added specifically because they won previous seasons of Stupid Huge Object War.
- The book the librarian, Iolite, is holding is a reference to "How To Be Dumb" in Battle For Dream Island.[1]
- The books in the scene with Bucket and Coin resemble the Book and Dictionary characters from Battle For Dream Island and Inanimate Insanity.
- In the intro, there are several references to other projects in it.[2][3]
- Blueberry's pose is based off the Blueberry in Battle of Object's icon pose.
- Forest's pose is based off a pose he did in the intro of IDK.
- Milkshake's pose is based off a pose from the Whiptastic Teaser.
- Magic 8 Ball's pose is based off an official pose of Magic 8 Ball in Hidden Secrets.
- During the debuters voting, a pose Blueberry and Emerald did were based off of art styles from Flipnote Hatena.[4]
- In the recommended character section, Quartz's pose is loosely based off her first ever appearance in Twisted Turns Reboot and Led Light's asset and pose is taken from Vince's part of the Object Bash episode 1 MAP by StrangelyUnknown.[5]
- Coin talking at the end was a reference to Gelatin from BFDI talking at the end of "Return of the Rocket Ship".
